I would like to hear opinions of the Lapua Scenar 105g projectile with the 6BR. I am using these at present with great results. I find 107 MK,s group just as good, but the Lapua,s are just a little better with the wind beyond 500yds. Regards, Cameron

Cameron - I found Lapua 105s group at least a minute higher at 600 than S107MKs when loaded with the same charge of Varget, in the same cases, with the same primers, out of the same rifle, on the same day. Velocity was within 10fps of being identical over my old M33 chrono. The only logical conclusion I could come up with is that the Scenar's BC must be considerably better (relative to the S107's) than what the catalogs show. The 107's is shown as .529, while Lapua claims only .530 for their 105. There's little doubt in my mind that the Lapua is also the most accurate bullet I've shot out of my BR Improved to date at 600 - I'm looking forward to the opportunity to compare them to JLK 105 VLDs at 1000.

I agree with all you have said. I am getting the same results in comparison to 107 MK,s. We have just setup benches at 1000yds at my range and I am looking forward to seeing what this small case is capable of (if I do my part). Regards, Cameron OZ F Classer

The current claim for Sierra 107 MKs is a BC of .527 above 2500 fps. It's interesting what you guys say about the 105gr Scenar vs. the MatchKing. We experienced a similar phenomenon in 6.5mm with the 139gr Scenar vs. a 142gr SMK. The 139 impacted higher at 700 yards than predicted by various ballistics programs (about 1.5 moa), whereas the SMK printed lower. If 6mmBR.com could arrange a bulk purchase of the 105 Scenar direct from the distributor, how many people would be interested? We could probably sell them for about $20/100 for a 500-bullet minimum order. This is a bit better than E. Arthur Brown's Volume Pricing, the best deal we have found on the web currently.

Check prices for the 105 Scenars on Graf's website. Initial results with the Lapuas convinced me to stock up on them, and Graf's lists 1000 of both 105s & 139s at prices a bit under E. Arthur Brown's quantity pricing.

The lowest prices I've found so far on Lapua bullets is from www.powdervalleyinc.com. Lapua 105gr HPBT Scenars $168/1000 Lapua 105gr HPBT SJ Scenars (moly) $192/1000 Lapua bullets are are not stocked in their regular warehouse, so they charge a $6/order handling fee, just so you are aware. They must sell a *bunch* of the 6.5mm 123gr Scenars as they are even cheaper at $156/1000. HTH, Monte
