I neck sized a few Norma 6BR cases that I picked up as once fired. I noticed that there is a small section of the neck - about 1/16 above the shoulder - that is not sized. I did not see this on previously resized Lapua brass. I am using a Redding neck sizer with a .268 bushing. What am I doing wrong? I have no prior experience with these bushing dies. Thanks, John

Hello John:

The Redding bushing will not resize a 6 BR neck all the way to the shoulder. I forget the exact distance right now (upstairs away from the loading data) but it only sizes somewhere in the neighborhood of .375". But that's not a problem. If the brass isn't from your rifle, just full length size it and then set the bushing to size only the part of the neck that actually holds the bullet. In my 6 BR using 68-gr. Bergers, only about .180" of the bullet is in the neck and that's all I resize.
