Hello all,
I am most pleased to have found this site and to have the priviledge to post here. That said, this being my 1st post , I'll very briefly describe my equipment then pose my question.
The rifle pertinent to this site is a Savage 12BVSS-S Hybrid, naturally in 6BR Norma. The rifle is set-up to shoot 107Mks[8twist30"] and is very accurate with the smallest 3 shot group slightly under 1"@600yds then 2 more shots that opened the group up to 2 1/2"[5 shots]. Even with me making the loads and doing the shooting the rifle has always shot under 4"@600[today, 2 1/2"] and 1" and under @300yds. All this with 107Mks@about 2775fps.
Now the question[finally huh!]Recently I saw that someone was having tremendous sucess with a 90gr or 95gr bullet at 600yds. I think that I read where the increased speed helped shooting in the wind[I need all the help I can get!]I don't remember the manufacturer of the bullet, the exact weight, boatail or FB. I just know it was in the afore mentioned weight range and supposed to be great for 600yds.
If anyone knows what the bullet is , please let me know. In closing, let me say that it is indeed my good fortune to have found this site and I am priviledged to be here. Thank you for your anticipated response

RSCAR,

We think you may be referring to the article by Danny Reever on use of the 10-twist barrel at 600 yards. The article is linked on the home page, or click here: Reever Article. Danny used 90gr and 95gr Berger boat-tail bullets. There is also an article by Mark Schronce on 500-600 yard match shooting. He has used the 80gr Fowler flat-base bullets with considerable success. That is also linked in the middle of the home page.

FYI, over 440 pages of content are indexed every day by our internal search engine. If you type in "600 yards" both the articles I've just mentioned come up, and Mark's article is #1 with Danny's article down the page a bit. You can use any search words you like.

Getting back to your original inquiry, there are a number of very accurate bullets in the 85-95 grain range, but right now, the Berger 95 has the highest BC among the non-custom bullets.

Thanx for refering me to all the information.I know it probably seems stupid to try to get the rifle shooting better than it already does, but thats a big part of the fun for me. Kinda like that ''So many loads...So little time" saying!
