HI
Have a 22/250 factory HB winchester that I am considering making into a 22 BR Norma (or 22 DASHER).
The factory barrel is 24 inches & I think 1:14 twist (????? on the twist). When the chamber is cut off and rechambered it should come out at arround 22 inchs.
Most ballistics for the 22 BR (and 22 DASHER) are taken from 26 inch or longer barrels.

In your learned opinions how much velocity would I loose by making one on a 22 inch barrel?
I am trying to get 3600+ fps with the 55 NBT or V-max-- possible with a 22 inch barrel?

Is it worth building a 22 DASHER (22 BR Ackley Imp) on a 22 inch barrel?? I am thinking of building the wildcat and if it works on the old barrel I can look at investing the $$ in a New SS replacement barrel and still have a fireforming barrel.

This will be a hunting rifle so I was thinking of a standard neck. Is standard cut at 254 or 252??
Whats the standard neck dia on the DASHER??

Does anyone have JLC Precisions e-mail addy so I can enquire to the cost of dies??

Thanks
later
P
