I am just now starting to play with my Encore in 6BR. I have been reading the info around here every chance I get. I noticed that no one had much interest in shooting the heavy bullets under 300 yards. I went with the 1-8" twist so I could utilize the heavy bullets for their energy. I had this tight chamberd and .266 neck, long story short, was piercing primers left and right with a starting book load, ended up the firing pin was to long, or so that is what the latest conclusion is.
Any way I am looking at VV N-135 or Varget for powder. Am I on the right track here?
Any and all input is appreciated.
Thanks.

6 BR with heavy bullet doesnt like fast powder , in Vita product N135 with heavy bullet make very nice proof load

use N140/N540/N150 that slow enought to be safe

good shooting

Give N150 a try with 105 and 107....I have good results with it. N140 and 107 Smk's doesn't work for me.

Good luck

What i have found is the shorter barrels with the heavy bullets seem to prefer H4895 powder over the Varget.Primers have been a source of real potential in this little cartridge when nearing higher nodes. The Fed 205M will work just fine if you stay at the second node but if you go for the top node give the CCI 450 Magnum a try.
