I placed an order today from McGowen for 6mmBR Norma barrel to switch over to from my Savage Model 12BVSS .223. I ordered a 1:7 twist, 26-inch Savage contour bull barrel. Should I change that to a 1:8 twist, or will the 1:7 do all the 1:8 can and more. It is not too late for me to change the order.

I need advice from someone who has experience with tighter twists in 6mmBR. (I now shoot a 1:9 .223 CZ527 26inch and a 1:7 Bushmaster AR 16inch.)

Would appreciate any other hints and tips that go beyond what I have already poured over on this site.

you dont say what weight of bullet you plan to use, that would be the determining factor. I shoot mainly Varmints with 58Gr bullets I use 1-14" barrels. Also I assume you already know you have to change the Bolt face. A BR uses the same bolt face as a 22-250
