Thinking of having an action barreled but I cant afford the custom actions that I've seen links here for, I'd just have to go with a remingtoin model 700 action. Does it matter what kind of remington model 700 I buy? Im thinking it will have to be a bdl, because adl is just 270 or 30-06 and Ill want a short action. If I bought a 243 in bdl, would that be good enough. thanks in advance for your advice....
By the way, this is my 1st post and I think you all have a darn cool site here. I will be back and often. I think I've been bitten by the 6mm br bug!

I just bought a ADL in 22-250 that I am putting a 6BR barrel on, so yes your ADL in 22-250, .243, .308 etc. all are short action calibers that have the same boltface of a 6BR.

Thanks Redfeather, you are right. I did some further research and found that you can buy an adl in synthetic with those shorter calibers. Good luck to you with your project.

Binkstir Here are a couple more reasons to get the ADL. 1) it is cheaper. 2) The trigger guard from the adl will fit right on a new stock. If you use bdl bottom metal you need a lot more milling time on the stock. Lynn
