We link the Grand Slam. Check and see what the warranty policy is. At one point it was only one year. That may have changed. It is a pretty rugged scope, with good weather-sealing. The only thing we didn't particularly like were the very large and somewhat mushy rubber control rings. These made adjustment somewhat imprecise. Also the power numbers are just painted on the rubber surface. In quick order, they started wearing off. After that, setting your zoom becomes guesswork.

You may also want to look at the Burris Black Diamond line of Scopes. They offer a full "forever" warranty and many of the scopes have recently been redesigned for lower weight and more elevation adjustment.

Can you add Sightron to your list? I would like to see some feed back on them if possible.

Thanks

Paul,

Most everybody else loves the Sightron SII 6-24x42mm scope w/ 1" tube, 1/8MOA clicks. I for one probably won't touch another one. Rather than rehash everything here, try a search on either www.longrangehunting.com or www.long-range.com for 'Sightron' and my username (same as here). Draw your own conclusions.

My regular shooting partner has a Nikon 6-20x. If you haven't looked through a better scope it seems pretty good. But when we compared it with my Leupold 6-20x LRT, the Leupold was brighter, and definitely could resolve bullet holes better. He's had some problems losing zero with the Nikon, and he may end up sending the scope back in. We also observed that the clicks aren't exactly the 1/4 moa Nikon claims. In that same price range I'd look for a used Leupold 1" VX-III - just make sure the cross-hairs are aligned with the turrets. I've seen a too many Leupolds that aren't.
