I really enjoyed the new scopes and optics section, one thing I can’t agree with is the quoted W&E adjustment range, for the T36, mine has 60moa of adjustment. Which is pretty good for a one inch tube? Don’t you think?

If the latest T-36 scopes indeed have 60 moa stop to stop, that indeed is news. The one we tested (purchased in 2002) did not. Perhaps there has been an internal redesign. FWIW, Weaver actually listed 20 moa elevation in years past, but now they don't even publish a number anymore. We got about 36 moa stop to stop, but you never want to max out, so we listed 32.
Noting your zero first, can you go all the way down and count ALL the clicks back up to stop point. Remember these are 8 clicks per moa! You'd need 480 clicks total to get 60 moa.
Update: we found this recent (5/11/2004) post on Benchrest.com--
"I contemplated buying a T24 for F-Class, given the claimed (large) amount of internal elevation. But phone calls to Bruno and Weaver (last year) informed me that both the T24 and T36 had something less than 40 MOA (about 32 as I recall, per my earlier post, now deleted).
As of this morning, 'Kevin' in the Weaver customer service department advised me that both scopes feature 60 MOA of elevation and the same amount of windage. ...Go figure."
Like the poster, we would be shocked if the T-36 offers more elevation adjustment than the Leupold Competition yet this is not trumpeted by Weaver as a major selling point. As noted, Weaver currently lists no elevation/windage data at all. We're going to call Bruno tomorrow morning and ask him to take out a brand new scope and click through it. We don't see how they could double the elevation of previous versions without changing the tube diameter, but if they did, that's big news.

We've called Bruno's and Weaver. Lester Bruno says the 60 moa doesn't make any sense to him given the size of the objective. I contacted Weaver and yes they are currently specifying 60 moa for windage and elevation.
So... that's what we will list. They must have done some significant re-engineering, and I'm not sure the full 60 moa of adjustment is truly usuable in the field.
But, Paul, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Next time you have your gun on the bench, could you do a full elevation test? It has been suggested to us by at least one engineer that once you click in more than about 20 moa up elevation (from center), you can keep clicking but nothing actually happens to point of impact. This may be why Weaver does not publish the 60moa number, though they'll tell you that if you call and ask.

I used a Weaver T24 for F Class untill I was able to purchase a Nightforce.
I found the Weaver excellent. Accurate adjustments and good optics. If Weaver offered more reticles for this one I am sure it would be more popular.
