Hey folks, I want to get some ideas here. I'm looking to do a 6BR for 600 yard club matches. Sometimes we shoot from bench, other times we shoot from the ground off a rest if the range doesn't have benches for that distance.

My experience is mostly with AR service rifles and spaceguns shot in High Power matches. But I looked at that Dasher that just set a new World record and I bet that guy is shooting that thing free recoil. Which makes me wonder, for 600 yards, is it better to go with a BR-style stock like a Kelbly Lee Six or a 1000yd style stock like the Tooley MBR?

Are you guys shooting Free Recoil at 600?

The most common stocks are going to be the same as 1000 yard BR.

Tooley MBR

Shehane Tracker (glass and laminated)

Baer lamintated ($245 inletted) Got 4 of them. 25 styles and all colors

Master Class

MBR and Master Class are V shape on bottom of butt, Baer and Baer have .500 flat. Baer also has V shaped bottom.

Hard to go wrong with any of those and pick your type and color.

I use a tooley for 1 K

and a Tom Meredith both from mac Millan in my light gun ( 6 BR Norma imp "à la BRX " ) but only 0.05 longer

6 BR family wilcats are very sweet in recoil and you can stay close to BR 100/200 shape and no need real heavy gun , Shedanne traker is very confortable to shoot too

good shooting

For those who prefer to shoot free-recoil, Tom Meredith offers a nice stock. Price is $275 for a blank glass stock. Add $195 for complete installation and pillar bedding. Tom (TM Stockworks) can be reached at (260) 485-5389.

Tom doesn't have a website yet, but we're hoping to have a couple of pictures up on the stock page as soon as Tom can get them to us.
