I have a 6 BR improved (similar to BRS) and it is a shooter.

28" Spencer barrel with 1-8 twist on Stolle Polar action (never barreled dated 1982). Polar is old style BR unlimited action of which less than 1000 made. Very long about 12" with last 4 just being non-touching sleeve. Added an ejector to it when built and going to dual port it this winter.

Lapua brass loaded with 33.6 gr Varget and 100 gr Clinch River( BC of .540-.560) to 3130 fps. If you like em hot, I can go to 34.4 gr Varget and get 3190 fps. Loaded in custom Neil Jones dies.

BRs seem to like either the BR2 or BR 450 primer. I switched to the 450 and cut my ES by over half.

The gun is inletted into a Bruce Baer blue/black stock with numerous coats of automotive clear.

It has shot consistent one digit 5 and 10 shot groups at 1000.

However, personally think the BRX or the Dasher gives more neck and almost as good velocity. BRX can even use standard reloading dies.

Bounty Hunter,

Thanks for your post. Send us a photo of your gun. We'd like to illustrate a Baer on the Stocks page, and maybe add your version of the BRBS to the data sheet on improved cartridges.

I think there will be a long, continuing debate on whether "improving" the cartridge is really necessary. But one can't argue with the success of the 6 Dashers, particularly at the Missoula, MT range. There, the Dasher basically owns the 11-lb rifle class.

to Moderator,

Who or where do we send pictures to? I have a few that you could maybe find useful. And I would like to help!

Happy Shooting

Moderator: Hey guys, we turned on the email last night (there were some technical reasons why we needed to delay that for a day or so after launch). You can send photos to Mailbox@6mmBR.com. Please edit your pix to 800x600 or smaller, and keep file sizes under 400k.

Doe anyone here know which issue of PS had the information on the Dasher? I think it was a fall issue of 1999? I no longer have these and would appreciate info if available!

It was in the Nov. 1999 PS Mag. The article was titled "Dasher Project"

My mistake!
The "Dasher Project" article appeared in the Feburary 1999 issue of Precision Shooting. Not the Nov issue as I had stated earlier in this thread.
My appologies.
